Frownie's History
A story of strength and beauty
Frownies was founded in 1889 by Margaret Kroesen, who created the first wrinkle treatment patches for her daughter Alice, a prominent concert pianist. Alice developed wrinkles between her eyebrows due to long hours at the piano. Margaret invented “Wrinkle Eradicators” – paper with water-activated adhesive that held facial muscles still and smoothed the skin. It quickly became popular with women on Broadway and in Hollywood.
Today, Frownies is still run by the same family, now in its fifth generation. The company is still female-owned and has helped the world of women preserve their natural beauty.
